PharmaMed Machine Videos
Showing Pharma-Grade Craft with Cinematic Precision
Business is based on trust.
As the name suggests, PharmaMed is a company that specializes in creating custom automation equipment for the pharmaceutical and medical industry. And a huge part of building trust with their potential customer is showing their work.
With an off-the-shelf solution, the risks and problems are at least known - but since most of their work is completely custom, it can introduce risk into a client’s mind. How does the customer know that PharmaMed can solve their unique problem?
That’s where these case study videos come in. The goal with this project was to showcase the incredible problem-solving and artistry that PharmaMed puts into every one of their machines. And even though each machine will likely be a one-of-one, they take the time to engineer and polish it so that the fit and finish is as good or better than any other off the shelf product – fitting perfectly into their customer's production line.
Splitting the difference.
Most of the time, product demo videos are boring and strictly informational. But we like to approach these videos differently – working to keep them engaging and fun to watch, while also communicating the important technical information. We take time getting to know how the machine works, then work to find ways to visually tell the story of what the product does and how it works in a way that feels more cinematic.
These videos are used on their website as case studies as well as for in-person meetings with potential customers. This allows them to see in detail how PharmaMed was able to solve different technical problems using different types of technology, helping them to see that PharmaMed is a good option for solving their problems too.

Lighting and Filming Automation Equipment
When it comes to creating product demo videos, one of the key elements is the lighting.
Since PharmaMed specializes in equipment for the medical industry, they use materials like stainless steel and polycarbonate for a lot of the major components. As it turns out, these materials are also some of the hardest to light!
It always includes a bit of trial and error, but over time, we’ve developed solutions for lighting even large machines in that way that makes them look their best. We use a combination of large, soft light sources and bounced light to make the stainless steel surfaces come to life, and black curtains and material for hiding our crew and cameras while filming to prevent reflections in the polycarbonate. At times, each shot requires a different solution to make each component stand out and shine, but it’s always a fun challenge to take on.
